Callbreak — also known as Call Break, Lakdi, or Spades in different parts of South Asia — is a four-player trick-taking card game played with a standard 52-card deck. It is enormously popular across Pakistan, Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, and for good reason: it combines strategic depth with fast-paced rounds that keep every player engaged from the first deal to the last trick.
The game is typically played over five rounds. At the start of each round, every player looks at their hand and makes a "call" — a prediction of how many tricks they believe they can win. Spades are the permanent trump suit, meaning any Spade card beats any card of another suit regardless of rank. If you meet or exceed your call, you score positive points. Fail to meet it, and you lose points equal to your call. After five rounds, the highest cumulative score wins.
What makes Callbreak so compelling — and why it has thrived in late-night sessions across Lahore and Rawalpindi — is the interplay between individual hand management and reading your opponents. You have to be honest with yourself about what your hand can deliver, and strategic enough to take tricks at the right moment without overextending.

Master the rules — from the deal to the final tally
All 52 cards are distributed equally among the four players — 13 cards each. Cards are dealt counter-clockwise. The dealer position rotates each round.
After reviewing your hand, you declare a number between 1 and 13 — this is your call. It represents the minimum number of tricks you commit to winning that round. You cannot call zero.
The player to the dealer's right leads the first trick. You must follow suit if you can. If you cannot follow suit, you may play any card including a Spade trump. The highest card of the led suit wins — unless a Spade is played, in which case the highest Spade wins.
If you win at least as many tricks as your call, you score exactly the number you called (e.g., call 4, win 5 — you score 4). Win fewer than your call and you lose points equal to your call. Bonus fractions are sometimes applied for over-tricks.
After five rounds, scores are tallied. The player with the highest total wins the pot. In the event of a tie, wc77 applies a sudden-death tiebreaker round.
Within each suit, cards rank from highest to lowest:
Spades are always trump. Even a 2♠ beats any non-Spade card, no matter how high. Holding strong Spades gives you control — but over-relying on them leaves you vulnerable when opponents read your hand.
Tip: Count your guaranteed tricks before calling. A hand with A♠ K♠ and three Aces across suits is good for a call of 4–5 comfortably.

Play smarter — practical advice for Pakistani Callbreak players
Before calling, count only the tricks you are certain to win — your Aces and high Spades. Avoid counting cards that depend on favourable conditions. A conservative, met call scores better than an ambitious missed one.
Lead high cards early to force opponents to expend their Spades. If you hold A♠ and K♠, lead them to exhaust trump from your opponents' hands before you need to protect a medium-value non-Spade suit.
Spades win tricks but each one used is gone. Wasting a high Spade to win a trick you'd win anyway with a plain suit card is a common beginner mistake. Save strong Spades for when you genuinely need them late in the round.
If a player calls 7 or higher, they're likely holding multiple Aces and strong Spades. Adjust your own play to avoid feeding them easy tricks — lead suits they're likely to be short in to force them to use trump early.
Calling 2 or 3 with a weak hand is sensible, not shameful. Meeting a low call still nets you positive points. Overconfident players who miss high calls lose far more ground per round than cautious players who consistently meet modest ones.
Mentally noting which Aces and high Spades have already been played tells you how safe your mid-range cards are in later tricks. The more you practice on wc77, the more natural this card-counting instinct becomes.

Card games like Callbreak combine skill and chance. The strategic element makes it deeply satisfying, but the element of luck means no outcome is ever guaranteed. wc77 strongly encourages all Callbreak players to set a session budget before joining a table and to treat the game as entertainment rather than a source of income.
If you feel you are spending more time or money on Callbreak than you intended, reach out to wc77 support to activate deposit limits, session reminders, or a full self-exclusion period. These tools are free and available to every account holder instantly.
18+ Only
Real-money Callbreak on wc77 is strictly for adults. No exceptions.
There's something uniquely satisfying about Callbreak that separates it from other card games on the market. Unlike pure luck-based games, Callbreak rewards players who genuinely understand hand evaluation and trick management. A good player in Faisalabad with a mediocre hand can still outscore an opponent in Multan holding better cards if they call accurately and play their tricks strategically.
wc77 has created a Callbreak experience that feels native to Pakistani tastes. The PKR-denominated tables, local payment options, and English-speaking support team mean you never feel like you're using a platform designed for someone else. Everything from the lobby design to the withdrawal process has been built with Pakistani players as the primary audience.
Whether you're a Callbreak veteran who grew up playing with family in Rawalpindi, or a newer player who discovered the game on a friend's recommendation and wants to test your skills online, wc77 has a table for you. Register, pick your stake level, and see how your Callbreak game holds up against real competition from across Pakistan.
